Quote of the Day

"When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child."

Creating, creating, creating

Last night was the final night of herb class and right now i am so energized! Maybe has something thing to do with that amazing thunderstorm we had last night as well...

Anyways, on the lot next to us I have been watching the mullein and yarrow grow. I have been wanting to create a very healing, soothing salve for the family and these are 2 very wonderful and healing herbs for sure a salve.

So I just got back from next door harvesting some mullein....

and some yarrow....

Have cut up the leaves and flowers and put each in their own jar and covered with organic extra virgin olive oil. Now we wait for 6 weeks for the herb and oil to form their friendship.

Wish us luck!

Well then things do not work the way you want, you impervise. I wanted to go to the campground and take the kids camping with another family but we were unable to; so being terribly upset by it I decided to set up camp in our front yard. This is the kids first camping experience and I am embaressed by this.

Here is one of our 2 tents. It is the smaller one that Sarah wants to use.

Here is the firepit in the front yard that makes a great campfire!

Here's my guy. A real trooper when I told him we are setting up camp in the front yard!

Sarah was getting upset about camping. She does not do well with change and was getting mouthy and resistant about this whole idea.

I bought a watermellon at the Farmer's Market on Friday for $3. Chilled it in the creek and what a mouth watering treat for the afternoon.

Did not know it was such hard work setting up 2 tents! Dad needs to relax!

Not wanting to get too close to the fire and chance getting burned, dad finds a realllyyy longggg stick to roast his marshmallow.

Jacob roasting,

Sarah roasting, but she had to do 2 at a time!

Now, talking on the phone is not what we do when we go camping! Please get off and spend time with the family! Actually she was calling a friend to see if her and her fmaily could come over and roast marshmallows with us.

Overall it was a very fun experience and the kids did enjoy it. The night was a bit chilly for a night in June but what fun it was.

Here is the kids first ever trip to a drive-in theater. I remeber going to the drive-i when I was a kid growing up and loved it! @ $7 a car load you really can not beat it! Especially at the cost now days to get into a movie theater!

Girls on the Run 20009

Sarah had so much fun last season with Girls on the Run she decided to do it again! She had a wonderful time though if you ask her there was not enough running! There towards the end she did not want to go to the meets because it was all talk and not enough running she says....

Anyways here are some pictures from the day of the 5K race...

Here is Sarah with two of her 3 Best Friends.

Here is her running buddy...her dad. There is no way, unless my life depended on it, could I run 3 miles. Thank you dad for being her running buddy!

Here is the team photo.

Here is their finish, unfortunately there was some womoon standing in the way!

Sarah was great! She did very well, improving her time from last year. With her attending a new school next year I am not sure if she will want to participate again but I hope she does

Cleaning product recommendation

I wanted to do this post about a product that I absolutely LOVE. To pass it along so everyone will know.

Sun & Earth Fabric Softener Sheets

Natural. Hypoallergenic. 100% Biodegradable in 21 days!

Available in scented "Fresh Citrus Scent" and "Unscented".
80 ct sheets.

I can not say enough about these dryer sheets....and the fact of how enviromentally friendly they are. Of all the brands and kinds of dryer sheets there are out on the market today, these are by far the best buy for your money and the enviroment. With a family of four and 2 children who dirty an obseen amount of laundry, I am ALWAYS doing laundry. 1 box of Sun and Earth fabric softener sheets last me a good month, that is even with occasionally using 2 sheets in a load.

How Swine Flu is REALLY spread

Despite all the information you get on the news as to how the Swine flu is spread, here is the TRUE way that the Swine flu is spread....

This post is from an e-mail sent to me from a friend and felt it necessary to post here on my blog about it. It is really funny! Had me histerically laughing for minutes after reading the e-mail.

Hope you liked it too.
